Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about ShotRX — how the AI works, what launch monitors are supported, how much it costs, sim-lounge mode, and how it stacks up against video and AI competitors.
What is ShotRX?
ShotRX is an AI golf coach for launch monitor users. You take a photo of your launch monitor screen, the app reads the numbers with Claude AI vision, and returns a plain-English diagnosis of your swing plus three drills with measurable success criteria. No video. No camera setup. Just your launch monitor screen.
Which launch monitors does ShotRX work with?
Trackman, FlightScope Mevo+/X3, SkyTrak/SkyTrak+, GCQuad/GC3, Garmin Approach R10, Full Swing Kit, Bushnell Launch Pro, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, Uneekor EYE XO and QED — and any other monitor that displays standard metrics on screen. If your monitor shows club speed, ball speed, spin, and launch angle, ShotRX can read it.
How does ShotRX diagnose my swing?
ShotRX reads up to 9 standard launch metrics from your screen (club speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, spin rate, club path, face angle, attack angle, carry distance), compares them against tour-calibrated benchmarks for your specific club and swing speed bracket, and identifies the single biggest issue. Diagnoses are framed as hypotheses, not verdicts. Every analysis includes three drills with external-focus cues and measurable success criteria.
How is this different from swing-video apps?
Video apps (DeepSwing, Sportsbox AI, GolfFix, etc.) analyze your body — angles, positions, tempo from a phone camera. ShotRX analyzes the result: your actual ball-flight data. Both are useful, but they answer different questions. Video tells you what your body did. ShotRX tells you what the ball did and why, based on D-plane physics. If you practice at a simulator, ShotRX gives you data-grounded coaching that video apps can’t.
How accurate is the AI reading?
ShotRX uses Claude (Anthropic) vision to read your launch monitor screen. Missing metrics are returned as null — the AI never guesses or invents numbers. If a number isn’t clearly visible on your screenshot, ShotRX tells you and asks for a clearer photo.
Can I correct the numbers if the AI misreads?
Yes. On the result screen you can tap any metric to edit it, then trigger a re-analysis with your corrected numbers. The AI will regenerate the diagnosis and drills based on the corrected data.
How does ShotRX adapt to my level?
During onboarding ShotRX captures your handicap, typical miss patterns, primary goals, swing speed, physical considerations, and language preference (Simple / Standard / Technical). Every analysis adapts: a scratch golfer gets marginal-gains tuning advice; a 30-handicap gets one fix at a time in plain English; a tour-level player gets D-plane-precise language.
How much does ShotRX cost?
Free for your first 10 lifetime analyses. Full Bag premium is $9.99/month for unlimited AI analyses and the AI Coach follow-up chat on every result. Cancel anytime. No contracts, no annual lock-in.
What does the AI Coach chat do?
After every analysis (Full Bag only), you can ask the AI follow-up questions scoped to that specific shot: "Why is my spin so low?" "Should I shallow the shaft?" "What does this number mean for my driver?" The coach knows your numbers, your goals, your prior sessions, and answers in your chosen language level.
Can I use ShotRX at a sim lounge?
Yes — ShotRX has a dedicated sim-lounge mode. Scan the QR on your bay and the app opens already linked to that bay at that lounge, showing the lounge’s name and logo. Lounges can pay a venue subscription so all customers at the venue get full AI coaching without individual signups.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your launch monitor photos and shot data are processed through secure Supabase Edge Functions; API keys never reach your device. You can revoke AI consent in Settings at any time. Account deletion is fully supported in-app — no support ticket needed.
Does ShotRX work without internet?
No — the AI vision and diagnosis run server-side. You need internet to capture a new analysis. Past analyses, history, charts, and the glossary work offline once loaded.
Is there an Android app?
iOS app + web (any browser) today. Android-native is on the roadmap. Android users can use the web app on any phone — same features, full responsive UI.
How is ShotRX different from Trackman’s Tracy?
Tracy only works inside Trackman’s ecosystem with their hardware. ShotRX works with every major launch monitor, and you can use it after the fact by photographing a Trackman screen — no API integration needed, no Trackman subscription required.
How is ShotRX different from SimSights?
SimSights focuses on glossary content and session-level CSV analysis via SMS. ShotRX is a full app: real-time photo analysis, AI Coach chat, drill prescriptions with success criteria, longitudinal tracking, and sim-lounge mode. Different tools for different needs.
